The World Does Not Need Billionaires!
First, let’s be clear about the world we find ourselves in, in the year 2025. The distribution of wealth and its allocation across different population groups is deeply concerning. Let’s start with the lowest wealth class—those with less than $10,000 in assets. This group consists of approximately 1.488 billion adults, accounting for around 39.5% of the world’s adult population, yet they collectively hold only 0.5% of global wealth.
Next comes the middle wealth class: individuals with assets between $10,000 and $100,000. This group includes around 1.608 billion adults, about 42.7% of the world’s adult population, who together control 12.6% of global wealth. If you find yourself here, you already have a decent starting position.
Now, things start to get interesting: The upper middle class consists of individuals with assets between $100,000 and $1 million. This group includes about 613 million adults, or 16.3% of the world’s adult population, who collectively hold 39.4% of global wealth. That’s enough to afford a proper Sunday roast every week.
Do you want more? You got it. Here come the millionaires: individuals with more than $1 million in assets. This exclusive group consists of about 58 million adults—just 1.5% of the world’s adult population—who collectively control 47.5% of global wealth. That’s like being at a family gathering of ten people, where the rich uncle takes half the cake.
Doesn’t seem quite fair, does it? But wait, it gets worse.
Enter the billionaires
Or, as I like to call them: Rich Fucking Bastards. Hold on tight, because this is where it gets wild: This tiny group makes up just 0.000034% of the world’s population—that’s only 2,781 people—and yet they control a staggering 13-15% of global wealth. One might argue that billionaires hold a disproportionate share of wealth, but the key issue here is distribution. A much smaller number of people are dividing up the biggest slice of the cake.
Among this elite group of super-rich individuals, some are at least aware of their responsibility to society and engage in philanthropic activities. Names like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, or MacKenzie Scott do take action to give back. However, we remain at the mercy of their generosity. As a society, we are powerless to demand it from them. Simply put, they are gods among mortals, free to do as they please.
We cannot and must not rely on their moral integrity. A prime example is Elon Musk, whose unchecked influence is actively undermining democratic and legal structures before our very eyes.
Thesis: Why do 99.999966% of the world’s population allow 0.000034% of the super-rich to dictate our world?
Because their power is derived from lobbying, capital, and influence—power they only obtain through our participation. We are the little hamsters running in the wheel, while they, like sadistic children, spin it faster and faster. Yet, we could simply step out of the wheel.
These international case studies confirm this: The abuse is not geographically limited, but part of a systemic problem that occurs in numerous countries with similar cover-up strategies.
At first glance, it may appear that the Church is making efforts to address cases of abuse through comprehensive prevention programs and the provision of support services to victims. Measures for prevention and financial compensation are promised in order to maintain the trust of the faithful.
However, behind these initiatives there is often more of a desire to limit the damage to their image than to actually bring the perpetrators to justice. Programs and offers of help therefore often serve more as PR than as sustainable victim support – a situation that has long been criticized.
Billionaires Are Not Saviors
The myth that the super-rich are “self-made” heroes who have earned every cent through hard work is an illusion.
While their beginnings may have been humble, the path to becoming a billionaire is rarely paved solely by effort. Their success is built upon power—and often the abuse of it—within a system that allows them to stand on the shoulders of the proletariat. They are not the indispensable pillars of society; they are players in a game where capitalism is refined to its most exploitative form, and they do not fulfill the responsibilities that come with such wealth.

But what does the principle of Noblesse Oblige dictate? This core idea from the French Revolution asserts that great privilege comes with great responsibility—a duty to give back to society.
The social contract, as described by Rousseau, emphasizes that every society is built on a pact in which its members share rights and obligations. This contract is based on the principle that individuals limit their own freedoms in ways that foster collective well-being. Without this implicit agreement, no democratic society can function in the long run.
When a small elite accumulates disproportionate power and influence over collective wealth, the fundamental principle of the social contract—the fair participation and involvement of all citizens—collapses. This elite class represents an undeniable threat to our democratic foundation.
Eat the Rich!
In both your reality and mine, a tiny minority dictates our future. The power they hold comes from us—the people trapped in the wheel of daily life. It is time to ask ourselves whether we truly accept that 0.000034% of the population shape and control our world, without being held accountable for their responsibilities or moral integrity.
The question remains: When will we rise and redefine the rules of capitalism? Sadly, I already know the answer: Never. We will never resist this injustice, because as long as we each have our own hamster wheel, spinning it at our own pace, we simply do not care.
